Marla: Hi, my name is Marla Lincecum and I am a Nursing Graduate student at University of Texas in Arlington. The reason that I have chosen this topic is for several reasons. The first reason is my personal interest in helping people be more aware of the symptoms of stroke because of my dear grandfather having a stroke many years ago. Watching him go from this very active man to being impaired was heartbreaking. If we knew what we know now, he may have had a better outcome. The other reason is to help everyone in our community to be aware of what to look for when their loved one is having a stroke and how to help them. One of the most important points to remember is "Time is Brain". This blog has been created in partial fulfillment of Nursing Informatics N5308. All postings are for informational only.
